    Eurotherm's new 650 series of AC variable speed drives have been specifically designed to provide simple, no-fuss speed control of standard simgle and three phase ac induction motors from 0.2 to 90kW and can be operated from either single phase (nominal 230V) or three phase (nominal 400V) supplies.

    The 650 series are provided with a fully featured operator/programming control display. This display features a large backlit 4 digit LCD display, with motor direction and rotation display, parameter units, diagnostic indicator and 6 simple control buttons for local start/stop, raise/lower and program menu. The op station can also be locally or remote mounted.

    New technology components have allowed an over all space reduction of up to 40% over current similarly sized drives. No side ventilation also allows for reduced cabinet size as the DIN rail mounting 650 requires zero clearance between drives.

    Provided with inbuilt RFI filters as standard up to 7.5kW further reduces cost and space. For field flexibility the 650 is provided with 8 preset speeds, a voltage free contact output and two programmable logic I/O. The 650 can accept two analogue inputs and for load or speed control an analogue output is also available. A motor thermistor input is also provided and 150% overload can be withstood for 15 seconds.

    The operator can select from 5 standard preset applications basic speed control, auto/manual control, preset speeds, raise/lower control or PID control. Once selected the 650 automatically configures the input and output parameter list, eliminating time wasting searching through large manuals.

    6511 Keypad
    The 6511 keypad is used for configuring and controlling the drive. Its design includes a back-lit LCD, 4-digit readout with indicators for motor rotating and direction, local/remote operation, parameter type (diagnostic or setup), and units. The standard keypad is drive mounted and removable.

    The remote keypad option lets the keypad mount up to three meters from the drive. It also includes a P3 port that can be used to program the drive with CELite+ software.
